In January 2022, the White House Infrastructure Implementation Coordinator requested that U.S. governors consider appointing a high-level person to serve as their state’s infrastructure implementation coordinator. The coordinators would work with state budget teams and across departments responsible for transportation, water, broadband, and energy investments to coordinate implementation of the various infrastructure programs.
