On Friday, November 17, 2023, EPN submitted comments on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) revisions to the Air Emissions Reporting Requirements (AERR). EPN supports the revision’s requirement regarding mandatory annual reporting by industry and the requirement that the data be considered public information. However, we urge EPA to carefully consider the resource requirements needed for implementation and encourage the agency to investigate the potential for the required reporting for emissions of microplastics (as is proposed for the reporting of emissions of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).
