On May 20, 2022, EPN invited members, donors, potential supporters, friends, and family to join a very special webinar on our technical assistance program. The meeting featured Dee Dee Green from the Hollygrove Neighbors Association in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Justinn Overton, Executive Director of Coosa Riverkeeper in Birmingham, Alabama. Dee Dee and Justinn shared the environmental challenges their communities are experiencing, and EPN members Ben Scaggs, former Director of EPA’s Gulf of Mexico Office, and Jim Giattina, the former Director of the Water Protection Division in EPA Region 4, provided information on the assistance they are beginning to provide in collaboration with the community leaders. The webinar was well attended and EPN volunteers who joined the event provided potential new avenues of support for the communities.
