On July 28, 2021, EPN submitted comments on the EPA-proposed rule for reporting and record-keeping requirements for Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances. EPN’s comments were based on recommendations EPN provided in April 2021, and focused on which entities should be covered by this reporting rule, what type of information should be required, and the extent to which non-confidential business information (CBI) should be provided to the general public. EPN urged EPA to use the full authority of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to get comprehensive information from all PFAS manufacturers and processors in the U.S. and make all non-CBI submissions publicly available as soon as possible.
