EPN’s Statement on House Interior Appropriations Bill

In reaction to the potential passage of the proposed House Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies FY2024 appropriations bill and the negative impacts it would have on the environment and human health, Environmental Protection Network (EPN) Executive Director Michelle Roos released the following statement:

It is alarming that one of the first actions by the new House leadership is advancing a bill that would slash Environmental Protection Agency funding by 39%. They are doubling down on an extreme anti-EPA agenda that Congress has rejected many times in the past. Addressing toxic pollution, including forever chemicals and lead, should be a non-partisan pursuit since the health of children and adults in all parts of the country benefit. Congress should give EPA the resources it needs to protect the air we breathe and the water we drink.”
