On Monday, February 26, 2024, EPN submitted comments on EPA’s white paper “Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program (EDSP): Near-Term Strategies for Implementation.” Despite our general support for the near-term strategy, we have some concerns about the proposal. We feel there are several ways in which the proposed strategy could be modified to achieve an even greater impact without devoting significantly more of EPA’s limited resources to the implementation of the EDSP. The suggested modifications involve the scope of the near-term approach, and prioritization and timelines for—as well as process and methods for EDSP evaluation of—conventional active ingredients.
