On September 30, 2020, EPN member Gary Timm presented testimony on the final draft risk evaluation of 1-bromopropane (1-BP) on behalf of EPN during an EPA webinar. 1-BP is a solvent used in degreasing, dry cleaning, spray adhesives, and aerosol solvents, and has been linked to neurological illnesses and may cause cancer and reproductive disorders. EPN called for EPA to ban all consumer and industrial/commercial uses of 1-BP. Those uses include cleaning and degreasing, in adhesives and sealants, and in dry-cleaning solvents.
