The Environmental Protection Network Calls on Congress to Reject Proposal to Slash EPA Funding

In response to the U.S. House of Representatives’ proposed budget, which would reduce the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) budget by almost 40%, Environmental Protection Network (EPN) Executive Director Michelle Roos released the following statement:

“With Americans roasting from the heat, choking on Canadian wildfire smoke, and bailing flood waters out of their homes and businesses, Congress has a responsibility to provide the Environmental Protection Agency with the funds it needs to protect communities and address climate change. Congress should flatly reject the proposal from House Republicans to slash the EPA budget by almost forty percent, which would stop much of EPA’s work in its tracks and leave communities throughout the nation even more vulnerable to extreme weather and toxic pollution.”
