FY2021 Budget Proposal Puts Important EPA Programs at Risk

On February 10, 2020, the Trump administration released its proposed FY2021 budget, with continued cuts to EPA that undermine its ability to protect human health and the environment. While most EPA programs are affected, those at greatest risk from this proposal included virtually all voluntary climate programs, geographic and water programs, and special initiatives and grants. In order to illustrate the full implications of cuts to these at-risk programs, EPN created fact sheets to explain what could be lost.

Note: Programs and activities proposed for elimination in the FY2021 Budget total over $680 million
compared to FY2020 enacted budget levels.

For 50 years, EPA has worked to protect the air, water, and land through core programs that support its mission to protect human health and the environment. EPA cannot fully meet these obligations without a budget that provides adequate funding. In response, EPN produced an analysis of the FY2021 budget proposal and its impact on EPA and its mission, as well as an overview and fact sheets on the core programs EPA strives to maintain to protect this country and its people.
