EPN’s Statement on Looming Government Shutdown and Potential Impacts on EPA

In anticipation of a possible government shutdown and the impacts it may have on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the nation, Environmental Protection Network (EPN) Executive Director Michelle Roos released the following statement:

“A government shutdown has far-reaching environmental and health impacts because the staff of the Environmental Protection Agency can’t do their jobs. It’s hard enough to keep toxic pollution out of our air and drinking water safe without pulling environmental inspectors off the job and stopping the flow of resources EPA provides to states and communities across the nation. EPA protects people’s health, and a government shutdown endangers all of our lives.”
