Emerging Contaminants FAQs on Funding for Communities

EPN member Betsy Southerland created this set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) designed to explain how the $5B in funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to address emerging contaminants in wastewater and drinking water over the next five years (2022-2026) can benefit communities. These FAQs outline what emerging contaminants the funding will address; why PFAS has been made a priority and how communities can find out whether their water contains PFAS; what types of projects are eligible for funding, who receives the funding, and when; and importantly, how communities can influence the state/territorial funding request.
