Under the Trump Administration, the U.S. Mexico Border Program, established under the 1983 La Paz Agreement to address the serious public health and environmental issues in border communities, and the Border 2020 Program, also established under the 1983 agreement to provide an environmental and public health partnership between U.S. border tribes and the U.S. and Mexico governments, have been eliminated. In response, EPN produced this U.S.-Mexico Border fact sheet to explain how these programs work, the successes they have achieved, and what will be lost with their elimination.
