EPN members Cynthia Giles, former Assistant Administrator, Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, and Eric Schaeffer, former director of EPA’s Office of Civil Enforcement, were quoted in this article on the risks to communities as thousands of oil and gas operations, government facilities, and other sites won permission to stop monitoring for hazardous emissions or otherwise bypass rules intended to protect health and the environment because of the coronavirus outbreak.
