CASAC/SAB

The Chartered Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC) was established in 1977 under the Clean Air Act to address research related to air quality, sources of air pollution, and strategies to attain and maintain air quality. The Chair of the CASAC also serves as a member of the Science Advisory Board, which provides a mechanism for EPA to receive peer review and other advice designed to make a positive difference in the production and use of science. EPN has vigorously defended the integrity of CASAC and the SAB against the Administration’s attempts to take the science out of public health analyses.
