On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, EPA Region 3 held an employment symposium for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) located in Region 3. EPN and the EPA Alumni Association participated in a roundtable with alums who shared some of their experiences while working for the agency. A Q&A session with the students followed the presentations. This event was part of our efforts to diversify EPA’s workforce by holding events at HBCUs and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). EPN member John Armstead, former Director of Land, Chemicals, and Redevelopment in Region 3, moderated the conversation with a three-person panel, including Beverly Banister, EPN member and former Deputy Administrator of Region 4, and two other Alumni Association members.
