On Thursday, March 30, 2023, in partnership with EPA Region 1, the City of Boston, and the state government of Massachusetts, EPN and the EPA Alumni Association participated in a career fair at the University of Massachusetts, Boston (UMass Boston), a primarily Asian-American/Pacific Islander-serving Institution. Panelists shared some of their experiences while working for the agency and participated in a Q&A with students. This event was part of our efforts to diversify EPA’s workforce by holding events at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). EPN member Sam Coleman, the former Deputy Regional Administrator in Region 6, moderated a conversation with a three-person panel including Jennifer Orme-Zavaleta, EPN Board member and former Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for Research and Development and Science Advisor, and two other EPA alums.
