On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, EPN submitted comments on EPA’s trichloroethylene (TCE) regulation under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). We commend EPA for proposing a ban on all uses of TCE in commerce. This is a health-protective proposal that meets the TSCA mandate to eliminate TCE’s unreasonable risks, and we urge EPA not to adopt a less protective Existing Chemical Exposure Limit (ECEL) or extend compliance periods. We also offer suggestions regarding public access to information.
