Plug In America is seeking a State Policy Manager to help implement the policy program and drive forward our mission to put more EVs on the road. Invest in Our Future, Program Associate – Clean Energy (Washington, DC or Remote | Full-time)

The Program Associate, Clean Energy, will report to the Program Managing Director and support IOF’s Program Officers in their implementation of IOF’s 2026-2028 Strategic Plan across all strategic pillars. Key responsibilities include research and report writing, administrative coordination and project management, grant and contract management, meeting and event planning, and tracking program metrics and deliverables. Pay Range: $87,300 to $99,100. This represents the present low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

Work Schedule: Candidates will be considered for Remote or Hybrid Washington, DC duty stations. Washington, DC-based employees are on a hybrid work schedule. Current policy requires staff to be in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and additionally as necessary.

Resource Environmental Solutions LLC, Lead Environmental Scientist – Ecology (Sacramento, CA)

RES is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Environmental Scientist (Ecology) ready for a new challenge. You will bring your scientific expertise, field leadership, and mentoring skills to support complex ecological restoration projects. You will also oversee the monitoring and maintenance of multiple conservation and mitigation banks across the West Coast, including sites that support federally and state-listed threatened and endangered plant and wildlife species.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and writing background, a solid understanding of California’s regulatory environment, and will hold a Section 10(a)(1)(A) permit under the Endangered Species Act for California tiger salamander and/or California red-legged frog, as many of the managed banks and preserves have monitoring requirements for these species.

They should also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with landowners, grazers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. This individual will work closely with field staff, project managers, regulatory teams, and operations personnel to support a wide range of restoration and monitoring efforts.

This position is based in our Sacramento, CA office, with an expectation of being onsite at least three days per week. The role includes regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

Successful candidates must be adaptable and responsive in a dynamic work environment where schedules, site locations, and tasks can shift based on project needs. During the spring survey season, field data collection may span several consecutive weeks, and support may be required for projects located in other states.

Environmental Policy Innovation Center, Permitting Implementation Fellow (or Senior Fellow)

We are seeking an experienced Permitting Implementation Fellow (or Senior Fellow) to lead EPIC’s work supporting State governments in permit streamlining for infrastructure, including (but not limited to) driving regulatory reform and managing the development of new digital tools for states. NRDC is seeking to hire a two-year senior fellow in our Climate & Energy team to help lead NRDC’s domestic efforts to phase down the super-pollutants called hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and support our international engagement under the Montreal Protocol in San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C. City of Boston, Director of Climate Policy

As Boston rapidly moves to large-scale implementation of climate action, the City requires a senior expert in policy, regulation, and law to implement the next generation of Boston’s climate agenda. The Director of Climate Policy serves as the Senior member of the Environment Department, charged with driving the climate agenda through regulatory strategy, legislative and legal action, and intergovernmental coordination.

Serving as the Environment Department’s lead on climate policy, the Director will carry out and/or oversee four key functions: climate policy development and engagement with state and Federal policymakers and regulators;; delivery of a portfolio of high-priority climate and sustainability special projects; oversight of energy utility collaboration on policy matters; and Department-wide guidance and support on legislative and policy strategy. Working closely with the Environment Commissioner and Chief Climate Officer, the Director will lead the development of Boston’s legislative and policy agenda in support of the City’s long-term carbon neutrality goals, as well as near-term targets that will be completed in the 2030 Climate Action Plan (CAP) Update, and lead engagement with state and Federal agencies to achieve these goals and targets.  In order to advance policy goals, the Director will also be responsible for a portfolio of strategic initiatives and programs to accelerate emissions reduction and ensure the City of Boston becomes carbon neutral with a focus on climate justice. The Director is a leader in energy, GHG mitigation, and environmental policy for the City and advises the Department, Chief Climate Officer, Climate Council, all agencies in the City, and stakeholders on legislation, policy, and regulation that affect and advance City goals.

The Director of Climate Policy and Planning reports to the Commissioner of the Environment Department and supervises two staff: the Deputy Director for Energy Transformation and the Climate Policy Program Manager. The Director will work closely with the City’s Intergovernmental Relations on legislative affairs and policy. The Director interacts with all segments of Boston’s municipal government and the Boston community. The Director will be part of the Environment Department Senior Staff, who will work closely with other members of the management team and have important administrative responsibilities.
