On October 19, 2026, EPN submitted public comments raising serious process concerns over EPA opening a public comment period on the draft TSCA risk evaluation for ethylene dibromide (EDB) before the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) has issued its final scientific peer review report. EPA’s draft identifies potential unreasonable risks to workers exposed to EDB, a chemical used in aviation fuel and industrial processes. EPN is urging EPA to reopen the comment period after the independent scientific review is completed so the public can meaningfully evaluate the agency’s findings.
