Ariadne Sambrano
Community Outreach Associate for EPA Region 9.
Ariadne (Ari) Sambrano is the Community Outreach Coordinator for Region 9, where she is focused on building meaningful partnerships and supporting local communities by advancing social and environmental justice through technical assistance.
Ari holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of San Diego, where she specialized in human security and international human rights. Her academic work focused on climate-induced displacement and migration, grounding her belief that while global challenges are interconnected, lasting solutions begin at the local level.
Before joining EPN, Ari worked as a Transportation Planner at the Transportation Agency for Monterey County. In this role, she supported policy analysis, community engagement, and equity-focused programs to address transportation and infrastructure needs in underserved communities across Monterey County. She is deeply passionate about environmental issues and seeks to build a career advancing solutions through public policy, with a strong commitment to identifying and advancing sustainable, long-term solutions.
Ari was born and raised in Monterey, California, where she currently resides. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking in Big Sur, walking her dog, attending hot Pilates and CrossFit classes, traveling to new countries, visiting coffee shops, reading, and spending time with loved ones.
