The Department of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to support a collaborative research effort evaluating the Multi-Effects Toxicity Database (METDB) for air toxics risk assessment in regulatory contexts. The Coastal Construction Regulatory Program’s Environmental Specialist III will review and evaluate complex permit applications for compliance with coastal construction regulations, and then prepare permits for approval by supervisors. The selected candidate is expected to independently conduct field inspections for the purpose of compliance with permit requirements for permitted projects and enforcement of the provisions of the regulations. When violations are found, the selected candidate will make recommendations for actions on violations of permits and coastal construction regulations. CWP is looking for a self-motivated individual, with keen attention to detail, with at least 10 years of financial management experience dealing with grant, contracts, and accounting issues that are relevant to non-profit organizations that award and manage federal, state, local, and private sector grants and/or contracts. This position requires an individual that can work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines; works efficiently and effectively; is detail-oriented; has the skills, experience, and ability to proofread grants, contracts, invoices, and similar documents to ensure accuracy and minimize errors; has excellent oral and written communication skills; is proficient in preparing and developing documents, charts, budgets, spreadsheets, graphs, invoices and similar types of documents for grants, contracts, and accounting purposes; and has relevant experience managing governmental and non-governmental grants, contracts, and other funding vehicles. The position is mostly remote with possible occasional travel to the office as necessary.

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Director of Advocacy (DA) is responsible for leading the affiliate’s advocacy efforts by promoting policies and systems that eliminate barriers to affordable housing. The Director of Advocacy will lead the department in conducting public education and awareness activities to highlight the importance of housing affordability in our community and build political will for change.

Cornell University’s Department of Public & Ecosystem Health invites applications for a full-time Instructor and Program Manager for Applied Practice. This is a non-tenure-track academic staff appointment supporting Cornell Public Health, which delivers the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree training. This position will be the primary lead for the Applied Practice Experience (APEx) and career readiness initiative and perform program administration and student mentoring. The Instructor and Program Manager has primary responsibility for coordination, implementation, and academic oversight of the APEx, a required component of the MPH curriculum. The position supports all MPH students as they plan, complete, and document applied public health projects aligned with program competencies and professional practice expectations. Responsibilities include advising and mentoring students throughout the APEx process; supporting development of workplans and applied outputs; evaluating student submissions using a competency-based portfolio approach; and facilitating communication among students, faculty advisors, and site supervisors. The position also plays a central programmatic role in developing, managing, and sustaining partnerships with community, government, nonprofit, and organizational partners that support applied practice activities. The Instructor position collaborates with faculty and partners to identify and design feasible, high-impact project opportunities; manages partnership agreements in accordance with university processes; and maintains databases related to applied practice projects and outcomes.
