The Executive Assistant provides essential administrative support to EIP’s leadership team and Board of Directors, the Center for Applied Environmental Science, and the organization’s day-to-day operations. The role blends administrative work, internal and external coordination, event planning, and occasional research or special assignments. The Executive Assistant is a key member of the Ways & Means Team and reports to the Director of Operations & Development. They will work in the DC Office at least two days per week.

ELPC is looking for a talented Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to provide senior management of this leading edge, high-performance public interest advocacy organization’s business operations. The CAO will report to and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide overall business management of the organization.

The Clean Energy Staff Attorney will handle critical litigation of utility regulatory cases in support of ELPC’s clean energy program in Midwest states. This is an excellent opportunity in an area of growing strategic importance at the local, regional and national level: fighting climate change by equitably decarbonizing the energy sector through rapid deployment of demand side resources, distributed solar, battery storage, electric vehicles and other distributed energy resources. The Clean Energy Staff Attorney will engage in a range of venues in our region, including state utility commissions, state and federal courts, legislative bodies, Midwest regional transmission organizations (Midcontinent Independent Systems Operator-MISO, and PJM), and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission-FERC. The role will require both litigation skills and strategic leadership working with coalitions to advance clean energy solutions in an equitable manner, reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector, and accelerate the deployment of distributed energy resources.

The Foundation Relations Officer will work to expand ELPC’s foundation grants program as well as manage a portfolio of current grants, which includes both institutional and family foundations at national, regional, and local levels. The incumbent will identify new funding opportunities, effectively engage with funders and foundation program officers, and write persuasive grant pitches and proposals. This position will also work with the Development Team and program staff on current grant reporting and proposal writing. As part of ELPC’s Development Team, this person will provide support for fundraising events and outreach activities as needed.

The paralegal is part of a legal support team at our downtown Chicago headquarters, providing crucial support to about 23 of ELPC’s talented public interest attorneys.

The Director of Operations manages the daily business and administrative operations of Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church. This position exercises leadership and oversight over the church’s financials, human resources, and facilities, ensuring that the administrative life of the parish operates with integrity and transparency. Working closely with clergy, staff, and lay leaders, the Director of Operations supports the mission of Palmer by stewarding the resources, systems, processes, and facilities that help sustain parish life. The faculty member’s teaching will predominantly be focused on ecology, environmental, evolution, organismal diversity, and animal dissection. Air Quality Engineer I is the entry-level class of this series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents perform a variety of routine air quality engineering duties while learning District policies and procedures and specialized air quality knowledge. With experience, the work becomes increasingly more diversified and difficult and requires increasing independence of judgment. This class is alternately staffed with Air Quality Engineer II and incumbents may progress to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications for the higher level class.

Our team partners with IT to architect, secure and modernize the mission-critical systems that acquire the environmental data from the BAAQMD network of 28+ monitoring stations.
