WaterSense: A Successful Public-Private Collaboration That Reduces Water Use and Saves Consumers Billions at Risk

The EPA’s WaterSense program offers Americans a way to reduce their water use through efficient products, homes, and services, and it has saved an estimated 2.1 trillion gallons of water and $46.3 billion since its start in 2007. If the WaterSense program is slashed, consumers will lose these savings, there will no longer be a system to assist in water savings, and the reliable partnerships and infrastructure that has been set up will be lost. EPN has created this WaterSense fact sheet to explain how cutting this program would impact Americans’ water- saving abilities.
