Without adequate funding, the EPA cannot meet its obligations to the American people to protect their health and the environment. With recent cuts in the EPA’s budget for core functions by 27% for the fiscal year 2018, EPA’s ability to ensure clean air and water, address contaminated lands, protect the public from toxic chemicals and pesticides, regulate hazardous waste, and do scientific research is reduced. EPN has created this EPA Budget sheet to provide a detailed understanding of the importance of an adequate budget for the EPA to work towards its mission.
