Grants to Tribes to Address Grave Environmental Problems on Indian Lands Would Be Severely Cut

Proposed budget cuts of up to 30% to two critical tribal grant programs will inhibit the EPA’s ability to continue its progress in developing programs to address public health and environmental issues that face communities living on Indian Lands. These grants have assisted tribes in implementing solid and hazardous waste programs and in establishing air quality monitoring programs. EPN has created this Indian Country Grants fact sheet to provide an understanding of how important this fund is to ensuring a clean environment and healthy communities within the Indian Lands.
