EPN’s Request to Extend the Deadline for Comments on Censored Science Proposal

On April 24, 2018, EPA Administrator Pruitt proposed to restrict the use of scientific studies in setting rules and agency policies, if the data that supports the studies and models that analyze the data cannot be released to the public. The proposal would have extensive policy and legal implications, and is a departure from long-accepted scientific approaches. EPN is taking a very close look at this far-reaching proposal and has written a letter to Administrator Pruitt and the EPA, asking for an extension on time for public comment due to the complex and varied issues that cannot be adequately addressed in the thirty-day response time.
