Letter to Congress on FY2018 Budget from Attorneys General and Secretary of the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection

Pencil and stack of envelopes wrapped with a ribbon

On December 20, 2017, the Attorneys General of New York, California, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, and the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection wrote this letter to Congress to express their strong opposition to the deep and damaging cuts proposed to the EPA’s FY18 Budget. EPN provides a copy here to illustrate these leaders’ warnings that the budget cuts and riders contained in both the House and Senate bills would undermine the EPA by impairing its ability to enforce the nation’s environmental laws.
